What are the different groups that you help?
We only have 4 the Kidz, 4 the Big Kidz, 4 the Senior Kidz, 4 the Veteran Kidz.
What are the different type of Angel Volunteers?
Regular Angel- You are assigned to person. You send a least one card/gift each week until notice. Please, read the terms.
Angels On Call- You are not assigned to any child. You will be sent a list of those having a really rough time, They need extra cards and gifts sent to them. When you receive a list, you may choose not to send to any at that time, one child or as many as you choose or feel you can financially do.
Angel Helper-These are mostly local Angels that can help with any fundraiser, projects, etc. when needed.
Except for Angel Helpers, you need to be at lease 20 years old.
How will I receive my information?
It is best if you an email address. This is the fastest and best way to get any updates, important changes or whatever information we need to get to you. Things can change on a daily bases and sending anything through postal mail, just might take longer to get to you when we need to get something to you sooner. Also, you need to be able to check for email updates regularly. If you do live in my area, there can be some arrangements made if email is not available to you.
How often and what type gifts should be sent?
Either a card or gift should be sent at least once a week. We ask parents of the kidz to fill out a form giving us some of their favorite colors, sports, things they like, etc. You just send an inexpensive gift that you feel the child would like according to the form plus ideas you might come up with. These cards and gifts are to be sent through the postal mail. You are not to visit or do anything that might make the parents uncomfortable.
Will my information on the form I fill out be shared?
Any information you give about yourself on the form is not shared We use this form to try to match you with someone that maybe with same religion as you. If you are assigned to a child, you are not to have direct contact with the child. Also, the information you receive on any child, should not be shared with others.
How old should a child be for a parent to sign them up?
At least two years old
Why is KIDZ spelled with a "z" on the end?
Kids will sometimes turn a "s" around or a "z" instead of the "s" the correct way.
How are the donations spent?
Some of the cost to run this ministry are the website, postage to send out letters and brochures to get our ministry known, to print brochures, letterhead, etc; postage to send kidz cards and gifts for the ones that their angel had gone AWOL until they are reassigned.
Will I hear from the person that I'm assigned or if I'm assigned to a child, the parents?
They are only required to check in with us for updates. You may request an update from us. A lot of these people are just trying to get better or through a rough time. Any time that you get a thank you or do hear from your assignment, it is an added bonus for you. Please, do not feel what you ae doing is not appreciated, it is ver much and remember they did sign up for this.
How long will I have to wait to get my assignment?
We like to keep a list of Angels ready for an assignment at all times. That is, we really like and rather have Angels waiting, instead of people waiting for an Angel. Please, be patient because we may not hav anyone to assign to you as soon as you sign up.
